One of the most iconic adidas silhouettes is back with a cleaner and more sustainable twist. The adidas Stan Smith is a trainer we have all loved for over 50 years, and one that has never altered – until now.

The famous shoe has undergone a 21st century makeover as part of adidas’s promise to help end plastic waste and only use recycled polyester in their products by 2024. Pretty cool, right?

So what’s changed? At a glance, not much. The Stan Smith still looks the same, it’s all about the way it’s made. The Primegreen upper is now manufactured in high performance recycled vegan materials, while the sole is made from rubber waste.

The look hasn’t been altered, meaning you can still rock the Stan Smith with your favourite jeans or joggers for a causal day time or evening drinks look. The classic all white side panel makes the famous green accent pop.

Ultimately, the statement adidas want to put out their with this reinvention of a previously unedited shoe, is that style and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. We live in an age now where you can look great and feel great, whilst doing your bit for the planet.
