This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Michael Jordan winning his first NBA championship and the sneaker he wore to win it - the Air Jordan 6.
That's right, one of the most anticipated Jordan launches of 2021 has arrived. Thirty years after it's first release the Air Jordan 6 Retro 'Carmine' is back and better than ever.
The 'Carmine' was last retroed in 2014, but in celebration of the silhouette's anniversary, this 'Carmine' release will stay as true to the 1991 original as possible. From the colours, to the shape, materials, and branding this release celebrates the original.
In 1991 the Carmine was the last Jordan shoe to have Nike branding but Saturday's release will feature Nike Air branding like the original.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield and worn by Michael Jordan throughout his 1991-1992 NBA season, this AJ6 features a colourway that reflects the Chicago Bulls.
Designed using its original shape, these high sneaks have been designed using white leather overlays, red colour blocks and a heightened tongue which is finished off with a silky satin finish.
For added texture and comfort ventilated holes appear through the mid-foot and collars. Black accents on the tongue, sock liner and heel counter add an extra depth to the colourways.
As well as the Nike Air branding to the heel, the iconic Jumpman logo sits on the tongue and sole
The sneak is finished off with a translucent outsole and overlapping black mould.
