An all-time classic football boot, the orginal Mercurial silhouette was made famous by footballing legend, Ronaldo (the Brazilian one).

Nicknamed ‘the phenomenon’ for his technical ability, the Mercurial R9 was named in Ronaldo's honour, 'R' for his name and '9' for his number.

With the original boot launching back in 1998, this edition has lost the cleats and instead injected Nike’s Air Max technology.

Featuring a 480-degree air unit at the back of the shoe for extra cushioning, the upper is made from hyperfuse mesh material for breathability and gives the shoe a clean, futuristic look.

Check out what George from The Sole supplier had to say about the R9 in the latest episode of Footasylum Unboxed:

The Nike Mercurial R9 is available now at Footasylum in the Royal/Black colourway. A definite summer cop, grab a pair now and keep an eye out for even more colours coming soon.
