Tell us about a typical day in the life of you…
I usually wake up and check emails, sorting through which ones are most urgent and then begin to work through them with some breakfast. I’ll head off to lectures if I’m at university, or off into the city to shoot features for the website if I’m back in London. I either spend some time in the afternoon painting or going to the gym…or napping if it’s that kind of day. We all need nap days.
What’s your website ‘Into the Fold’ all about?
It’s a site for young women, showcasing a load of voices and perspectives in a humorous and honest way. There are elements of my own personal style featured, as well as editorials, tips and tricks, DIYs, opinion pieces and real life experiences. I like to think of it as a big universal online diary for young creative ladies.
How long have you been blogging for and what got you into it?
I started my blog when I was 13 and turned it into a website in July 2015. I initially got into it purely because my friend started one herself, and after several embarrassing name changes and awkward teenage grammar it’s sort of just slowly evolved into what it is now.
How would you describe your style? Have you always had this style or have you grown into it?
My style used to be quite put together, much more tailored. Since going to university I’ve become a lot more relaxed; I prefer trainers to heels and I’m really enjoying getting into different shapes. I feel quite influenced by the '90s and '70s now, giving that grunge and boho vibe a more modern feel.
What have you worn on your feet today?
My Vans!
How many pairs of shoes do you own and how do you store them?
Oh lord, I don’t think I should admit to this (also, I’ve definitely lost count…). I have a shelf that I store them on next to magazines and trinkets, as well as decorations around my room and lined up along the floor by my big mirror. I keep the shoes I wear less often in a box under my bed just so I don’t risk other people’s lives by leaving them around to trip over.
What kind of shoes will be on your feet this autumn?
I just picked up some furry lined suede boots and I’m irrationally excited for how warm my feet will be.
Are you a sneaker girl? What’s your favourite pair?
Yes! Especially over the last year. I walk pretty much everywhere in Bristol at university, they’re kinder to my feet. I have about ten pairs that I wear regularly but my favourites right now are probably my white Reebok classics.
Where do you find your style inspiration?
Bloggers and Pinterest mainly I’d say; there’s something so approachable and achievable about the style on the Internet nowadays. It’s less intimidating than the extreme styling in magazines.
Are there any girls or bloggers out there in particular inspiring you day-to-day?
So many! Shope Delano, Pernille Teisbaek, Charlie May, Mija Flatau... I like to follow bloggers who have different styles; I think it’s nice to have a variety of looks to be inspired by. It helps you make original choices at 7am in the morning when you just want to wear a duvet.
