The Air Max 97’s 20th anniversary last year proved Christian Tresser’s classic still has the golden touch. With the silhouette still in high demand after Air Max month’s celebrations saw the 97's upper hybridised with a variety of Air Max tooling, the 17th gives you another chance to get your hands on the coveted Metallic Gold OG colourway.
Despite being the perfect companion to the ‘Silver Bullet’ colourway the Air Max 97 launched with, the gold edition didn’t debut until late ’99. Not that this has dampened the gold edition’s appeal – the shoe sold out on release day last year, so make sure you’re quick if you want to cop this time around.
Dropping at 8:00am on the 17th May, the Nike Air Max 97 OG Metallic Gold features the same sleek, concentric upper as the Silver Bullet, accented with 3M and riding on that instantly-recognisable full-length Air Unit.
