The latest model from the Swoosh takes classic Nike heritage and transports it straight to 2090, with elements from the Air Max 90 and 200 colliding to form the silhouette for the new sneaker.
When Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Max 90 in 1990 he kickstarted an Air revolution which hasn't shown any signs of slowing down since. 30 years later it's a firm staple in every sneaker collection, however, the Air Max 2090 takes the 90 and upgrades it to take it to the next level.
Paying homage to the iconic Air Max 90 the 2090 features the classic mudguard, although slightly shorter, lining the sidewalls, heel logo with Air branding and the unmistakable Air Max 90 Casette which surrounds and highlights the iconic Air unit.
Utilising the same DNA that made the Air Max 90 so iconic and futuristic three decades ago, the Air Max 2090 has been designed to showcase what the future holds.
When creating the Air Max 90 colour blocking was a key element in the design with darker colours underscoring the strength in the shoe's structure and the 2090 is no different. The Air Max 2090 pays homage to this through levels of opacity, the materials providing the most support and 100% opaque with the lighter weight materials being see-through.
The Air Max series is all about big air for bigger levels of comfort and the Air Max 90 features a larger Air unit than the 90 with a 200% larger window borrowed from the Air Max 200 which was released last year.
