In the 1990s, adidas hit reset and turned to the history books to create a brand new design. Ignoring all rules, market research and trends, they decided to create a revolutionary new sneaker silhouette solely for athletes. In 1991, the adidas EQT was born.
The new kicks showed off performance-enhancement, protection and comfort for runners and athletes. A hugely popular trainer, EQT adidas went from coveted to collected overnight. Featuring a green, white and black colourway that would soon become iconic, the adidas EQT became hyped in a hurry.
In 2017, adidas went back to the classics and introduced the adidas Originals EQT ADV. The revamped kicks saw the iconic EQT green replaced with turbo red. Adding the adidas Trefoil marked the EQT as one of the Originals, joining the ranks of Originals Climacool, Tubular and Hamburg.
