At the beginning of the 90s, the world was changing. adidas had fallen behind when it came to progressive design, but they were far from out of the game.
Resetting their brand, they turned to their history, going back to basics to provide everything that is essential and nothing that is not. Ignoring all rules, market research and trends, they created a brand new sneaker silhouette that was constructed solely to meet the athletes needs: Performance, protection and comfort. Going against the grain in a bold move for the brand, in 1991 the adidas EQT was born.
A hugely popular trainer, the EQT went from coveted to collected overnight. But the story doesn’t stop there. Rejuvenating the EQT for 2017, adidas Originals introduced the EQT ADV. Introducing turbo red to replace the iconic EQT green, the trainer’s quality was brought up to today’s standards, introducing premium materials and the adidas trefoil, marking the EQT as one of the Originals.
