With just one week to go before one of the biggest nights in British music, we thought we'd give you the lowdown on all things BRIT Awards.

Landing at the O2 Arena on Tuesday 8th February the 2022 BRIT Awards is set to be huge.

With Little Simz and Dave up for four awards, Central Cee up for three and double nominations for KSI, Becky Hill and Raye this is a night you don't want to miss.

MASTERCARD ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

It's safe to say that 2021 was a big year for album releases. From Dave's second album We're All Alone in This Together to Adele's highly anticipated 30, it's hard to pick a favourite album of the year. This year's BRITs will see Adele, Dave, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz and Sam Fender will all go head to head for the title of Mastercard Album of the Year.




ARTIST OF THE YEAR.

Taking the place of Best Male and Female Artist categories from previous years, Artist of the Year is a whole new category for 2022 and it's no surprise who the nominees are. BEST HIP HOP/GRIME ACT.

Solidifying how big of a night the BRITs is going to be Dave and Little Simz appear in another category together alongside triple nominee Central Cee, AJ Tracey and Ghetts. Possibly one of the hardest to call categories out of them all.




SONG OF THE YEAR.

The Song of the Year category has seen a rule change that allows this year to allow featured artists on tracks eligible for the award. 15 songs have been nominated for the award this year, with features from Tion Wayne & Russ Millions, Dave ft Stormzy, KSI and more.

BEST NEW ARTIST.

Whether you find your new music through TikTok, Spotify or even MySpace, 2021 was an explosive year for newcomers on the British music scene. This year 2020 BRITs Rising Star winner Griff, Joy Crookes, Little Simz, Self Esteem and Central Cee are nominated for Best New Artist. Despite his debut mixtape only being released this year, West London rapper Central Cee has been shortlisted for three awards this year.




BEST GROUP.

2022'S Best Group nominees see a mix of BRIT veterans and newcomers battle for the title. Coldplay, London Grammar, Little Mix, Wolf Alice and Lewisham duo D-Block Europe will all be hoping for the win next week.

BEST DANCE ACT.

The BRIT Awards wouldn’t be the same without a nomination for the mastermind Scottish DJ and Producer Calvin Harris, he'll be going against Fred Again... (last years winner of Producer of The Year), Becky Hill, Raye and Joel Corry.




BEST ROCK/ALTERNATIVE ACT.

BEST POP/R&B ACT.

As expected Adele and Ed Sheeran, both owned the nominations this year after a huge year of releases, but they're joined by some big contenders in this year's Best Pop/R&B Act category. Dua Lipa, Joy Crookes and 2020 BRITs Rising Star winner Griff will all be hot on their heels.
 




INTERNATIONAL GROUP OF THE YEAR.

The BRITs don't just celebrate the amazing UK music scene. ABBA, who recently received their first-ever Grammy nomination, gain a BRIT nomination for International Group, alongside BTS, Måneskin, Silk Sonic and The War on Drugs.

INTERNATIONAL ARTIST OF THE YEAR.

The International Artist of the Year category is a competition between Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo - all of who have earned two 2022 BRIT nominations - and the 2021 BRITs Global Icon Taylor Swift.




INTERNATIONAL SONG OF THE YEAR.

An all-new category for 2022, International Song of the Year celebrates some of the hottest songs to come out of last year in every genre. From Doja Cat ft.
