One of Marvel Comics’ lesser known superheroes, Doctor Strange (known to his mum as Stephen) is Master of the Mystic Arts and Sorcerer Supreme. Once a professional surgeon, a car accident injured his hands and destroyed his career. In search of a way to repair his damaged nerves, he was introduced to the Ancient One, who (long story short) taught him how to be a badass magician instead.

While it really doesn’t take much to convince us that a Marvel movie is going to be incredible, Benedict Cumberbatch has been doing his best to build hype around this release, even turning up at a New York comic store in full Doctor Strange costume to surprise fans. After absolutely smashing his starring role as Sherlock Holmes for the BBC, we definitely don't expect him to disappoint here.

With some definite Inception vibes, Doctor Strange looks like it’s going to be one hell of a mind melt. In a good way, obviously. Check out the trailer:

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange and directed by Scott Derrickson, Marvel’s Doctor Strange drops in UK cinemas on 28th October 2016.
