Adidas Counts Down to 2010 World Cup
The Football World Cup is to most eagerly-awaited sporting event of the year – and Adidas is a major sponsor.
Go to the FIFA website and you’ll see a countdown clock that’s measuring the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the start of the 2010 football World Cup in South Africa. But FIFA isn’t the only one counting the das. For major sponsors like Adidas, there’s a lot to be done and a relatively short time left to do it in.Adidas – World Cup 2010 Partners
As with all major sporting events, sponsorship for the 2010 World Cup is available at different levels. Adidas is one of six main partners for the event, alongside Coca Cola, Visa, Emirates, Kia and Sony. This level of sponsorship will give Adidas incredible exposure at every World Cup match – all of which will be televised around the world. Adidas is also providing the match balls, replicas of which are already available for sale. With advertising, hospitality and merchandising to organise, this is a huge endeavour for the sports company, but one it is used to, as a major sponsor of many other sporting events.Adidas Teams and Individuals
It’s unlikely that Adidas’ exposure will be limited to the match ball. Its status as World Cup 2010 partner will guarantee it a level of advertising throughout the tournament, but as Adidas also sponsors national teams and is the preferred boot manufacturer for many players, you’re bound to see a lot of the three stripes around, no matter where you look. Adidas partners the French, Spanish, German, Argentinean and South African football federations and has individual endorsement deals with international footballers, which comes as little surprise when you know that football is where Adidas’ heart really lies. The company is determined to make its participation in the 2010 World Cup a success and to provide teams and individuals with footwear, clothing and match balls that help them to perform at the highest possible level.Adidas at Footasylum
