When it comes to seminal footwear in films, few can compete with the Nike trainers worn by Marty McFly in the film ‘Back to the Future II’. The effortlessly cool Nike trainers have now been granted a limited release in USA.
 
Nike are well known for coming up with many design classics during their history but few have been as memorable in the mind’s of movie fans as the Nike Hyperdunks that were worn in the film ‘Back to the Future II’. There was mass hysteria from Nike fans when the trainers were first revealed back in the late 1980’s and it has taken almost two decades for a limited edition release of the Nike Hyperdunk trainers that Michael J Fox wore in the movie and, as there were only 350 pairs commissioned, it is likely to see demand for the trainers soar and the prices paid is expected to reach astronomical levels as fans of both Nike footwear and the Back to the Future franchise will want to get their hands on a pair of the visually stunning trainers.

It was only a matter of time, perhaps, before Nike agreed to release the timeless Hyperdunk trainers worn by Marty McFly in the Back to the Future film. They certainly have get fans of the film and the footwear on tenterhooks, however, by waiting nearly 20 years to make them available to the general public. The breathtaking trainers which, lamentably, don’t feature the auto-tying shoelaces that were witnessed in the movie have been granted a limited edition release and 350 pairs of the shoes made their way onto the market. This level of exclusivity is likely to make them amongst the most sought after Nike trainers for some time and there are reports of pairs changing hands for in excess of £1000.

The colour scheme and design of the Nike Hyperdunk trainers is decidedly 1980’s and they are a grey and light blue offering which are inspired by rather than being a direct copy of the pair worn by Michael J Fox in the Back to the Future movie.
